One of the reasons I chose the Turkey tour was the chance to take a day cruise on the Turkish Riviera.  I gathered eight fellow tour members and with the help of the hotel owner arranged a four hour cruise complete with round-trip transfers, swimming stops, and a spread of snacks and drinks.  We all had big smiles as we set out on our private yacht.  The water was refreshing.  We even saw some sea turtles. Lounging, diving, swimming, eating, laughing, enjoying.....the perfect way to spend our free day.

ANTALYA

Antalya was our chance to take a "vacation from our vacation."  Some used the free day to tour nearby Roman ruins, or lounge at the beach, some even went to the turkish baths.  [See sidebar for my choice].

Ahhh, the sea

Gorgeous sunset over the Taurus Mts.

Antalya old town (where our hotel - Ninova Pension was located) has narrow cobbled streets lined by Ottoman style houses with overhanging second floors dripping with flowers.  The streets all meander downhill to the port.  There are some nice restaurants, or enjoy a steamed mussel from a port side vendor. There are also carts selling honey-roasted nuts or the sticky, turkish ice cream.
